A TINS 2006 entry by Eric Love

HOW TO RUN
In Windows, run game.exe to play. You need alleg42.dll (www.allegro.cc/files)
If you're not in Windows, or you got the version without an exe file, see the CODE section about how to compile.
Command line arguments: -w tries to run in windowed mode, -f tries fullscreen. (If 640 x 480 x 8-bit is bad for you, yuo might need to change the code).

TINS INFO

This game was made in 72 hours (Fri 3rd - Mon 6th March 2006), for the TINS competition (amarillion.bafsoft.net/tins06).

See rules.htm to see what the competition required.

Genre requirement: Firstly, the objective is to reach your destination in the minimum amount of time. Secondly, the rules change as history progresses.

Artistic requirement: There is a suburban rail system with trains you can ride.

Technical requirements: Press F1 at any time to get to the help system, which makes clever use of ASCII. The Help section describes how to play in detail, so that isn't reproduced here. There are also crude ASCII versions of the road map.

CODE
I've included all the source code. To create the executable from it, you need a C++ compiler and the Allegro library, which can be downloaded from www.allegro.cc/files. You should be able to change makefile.mak (which is called by "makefile") to suit your compiler (if you're lucky it might compile straight off). If you don't understand compilers or you're stuck with it, drop me a line.

Much of the code is reused from previous projects - the menu system and all the basic game stuff. The music is from my musical "Keep on Coding".
No copyright, no guarantees.

Read log.txt for my account of the game's brief development. Email me if there's a bug, or you can't get it to work, or for any other reason (eg you want to know how to use the editor). If you've got significant bugs, check the website and there may be a version with bugs fixed.
