Target Shooter

In this game you are challenged to complete various tasks in a firing
range. There are 9 different events, and the victory target shifts
depending on your rank.

THE EVENTS
----------

POPPING BALLS

Coloured balls spew up from the ground. Shoot as many as you can.

Yellow Balls - 10 points
Blue Balls	- 16 points
Red Balls	- 25 points

Bonuses - None
Penalties - None

-------------

HIT THE TICKS

A grid of 25 squares contains 10 ticks and 15 crosses, but their
positions are only visible for a short time. Shoot the ticks as
quickly as you can.

Note - If you've forgotten the positions, remember that the sides
of the squares are coloured as well as the front, which can help
you find the missing ticks.

Bonuses	- Clear Board in 10 seconds
	Reward = 20 points and 5 seconds
Penalties - None

--------------

REPEL THE FOES

Five sticks symbolise advancing enemies. Shoot the heads to force
them back. If you shoot them in the red zone you'll score 10 points,
rather than the usual 2 points.

Bonuses - None
Penalties - If a stick gets too close, you'll be fined 50 points

---------------

MOVING TARGETS

Two targets move in a circle. You are rewarded for your accuracy.
Shooting the centre circle of a target scores 10 points.

Bonuses - None
Penalties - None

----------------

SHOOTING GONKS

Gonks pop out of holes, and you have to shoot them before they
disappear back inside. Shoot the red gonks but avoid the blues.

Bonuses - Shoot the red gonks in rapid succession
Reward = Increased score for each hit

Penalties - Shooting a blue gonk loses you 50 points

-----------------

LIGHT THE FLOOR

A ball sits on the floor. By shooting it you can cause it to move
in various directions, and bounce off the walls. As the ball passes
over the floor it lights the squares beneath it. The more squares
you have lit, the faster your score will increase.

Bonuses - None
Penalties - If the ball crosses a square which is already lit
you'll lose 5 points, and the square will become unlit.

------------------

SPLITTING BALLS

At the start, you'll see one large ball. Shooting this causes it to
split into two. Each time you shoot a ball it will split, unless
it is too small, giving you more and more targets.

Bonuses - After every 25 hits, a new ball appears and you get a
	5 second bonus.
	- When you score a run of direct hits, and no misses, you'll
	hear a high-pitched sound. This means you've gained a
1 second bonus and a score multiplier.

Penalties - None

-------------------

TARGET SHOOTER

Similar to 'moving targets' except this time the targets will move
about at random, but they stay still long enough for you to shoot
them. Again, shooting the centre area is worth 10 points.

Bonuses - None
Penalties - None

--------------------

PUSHING TINS

Some tins are on a wall, and you have to shoot them. Doing so causes
the wall on which they sit to move left of right, revealing more tins.
The direction it moves depends on the colour of the tin you shot
(the colour is white, grey or black). Each tin which is shot will
reappear after a length of time.

Bonuses - As in 'shooting gonks' you are rewarded for destroying
	the tins rapidly.

Penalties - None

----------------------

CONTROLS

The game is controlled with the Mouse, as well as the left and right
arrow keys (for strafing).

Your gun has a 10 bullet clip, and so you'll need to take the
reloading time into account.

Mouse Button 1 = Single Shot
Mouse Button 2 = Automatic Shots
Mouse Button 3 = Reload

Automatic Shots are very effective, although in some events Single Shots
are better. They're also preferable if you want to get a high accuracy rating.

Best with Single Shots Best with Automatic Shots
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Popping Balls Repel the Foes
Hit the Ticks Moving Targets
Shooting Gonks Light The Floor
Pushing Tins Splitting Balls
					Target Shooter

Reloading will occur automatically, each time you run out of bullets.
-------------------------

PROGRESSION

You progress by completing a set number of challenges within each
rank. To complete a challenge you must reach the 'limit' for your
current rank. This limit is found by multiplying your score and
accuracy together. However on the lower ranks, you can get away
with a low accuracy rating, and just concentrate on your score.

-------------------------

PRACTICE

You will be told on the screen that you can press P to practice. This
allows you to choose any event you are unsure of and play it (at your
current rank). This is the same as a normal game, except that your
successes and failures are not updated, so you can experiment without
risking your rank.
