SERIOUX
-------

Serioux is vertical scrolling shooting game where one shuttle fights against much larger enemy army. Army consist from air and ground units (air units flies surrounds you and shoots same time and grounds units only shoots against you).

Serioux is a new version from old videogame, named Xevious. I named it so because once I forget the original game name and I guessed that it was Serioux.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-------------------

About 1 GHz processor (recommendation is 2 GHz)
Keyboard (mouse is optional)
At least three megabytes free disk space and about megabyte for save file

CONTROLS
--------

Controls are simple: arrow keys moves ship, control key shoots with laser weapon and spacebar key drop a bomb. However you can move only backwards when you drop bomb. Here is briefing from all keys which are available during the game:

LEFT ARROW = Move shuttle left
RIGHT ARROW = Move shuttle right
UP ARROW = Move shuttle up
DOWN ARROW = Move shuttle down

CTRL or LEFT MOUSE BUTTON = Shoot with lasers
SPACE or RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON = Drop one bomb

P = Set game for pause
F1 = Show information window
F2 = Turn sound on/off
F3 = Turn music on/off
F4 = Switch between fullscreen and windowed mode
Keypad 0 = Take one snapshot to the file "shotxxxx" where x is random number
F10 = Drop game speed to 1/3. Caution: to prevent use of cheating, this resets your score!
F12 = Turn on/off internal snapshot system which takes snapshots randomly during game to same name as above.
ESC = Abort current game and go back into the mainmenu (after confirmation during game)

PLAYING
-------

There does not much to say about playing the game. You shoot with your shuttle armanents enemies before they shoot you. If enemy hits you then you lose one life and you had to start from begin (or halfway if you are investigated enough level). When all lifes are gone, your game is over and if your current score is enough large, it will be recorded to the top ten -list.

Oh, what about enemies? There are flying enemies, all of whom fly and shoot and ground enemies, who simply shoot. When you destroy enemies, you get points as you solve entire level. Even if you survive you get points (during whole game).

COMMAND LINE
------------

Currently there are two parameters which you can enter as you start the game. These are:

/NS = No sounds initially. You can turn them back by pressing F2.
/NM = No music initially. You can turn it back by pressing F3.

/SVxxx = Set sound effects volume x which could be between 0 - 100.
It must be declared with three digits (like 050).

/MVxxx = Set background music volume x which may be between 0 - 100.
Same restrictions apply as above.

/DS = Activates F10 function key which allows you to lower game speed. Read further details from controls chapter.

TROUBLESHOOTING
---------------

If game tilts, one reason may be that it cannot save game situation. Start game on drive which has write access and enough free disk space. Game needs about two megabytes of free disk space.

ABOUT AUTHOR
------------

Xevious was not my favourite game because it was difficult and because I'm not fan with scrolling shooters (when scrolling shooter means game where screen scrolls automatically, not when player character touches border and screen scrolls some steps). I make it to others and... because there where seems not much remakes of Xevious (there seems only one when I started to make it).
