Time log

2003-04-06 (Finland, GMT+2)

10:30 started working on the project, not really pushing it very
seriously since the compo actually started way back and I have
less than 20 hours to go (and in reality I can't put that time
for this project 100%, maybe total of 10 hours or so. let's see
if I get anything done =).
whipped up some very simple base code to set up SDL and so,
partly copy pasting from some old stuff and examples.

11:44 still working with the base framework. picked up sol's tokenwad
class from cfl distribution for string tokenizing..

12:20 ditched sol's tokenwad due to some problems, did the same work with
some stl stuff copy-pasted from some howto. ate some yoghurt.

12:50 tokenizer up and running, ate also some more breakfast
("mmmi", traditional Finnish stuff, you should try it)

15:24 have had some progress, going to watch TV (simpsons rerun) now.

15:54 back

17:13 the car is now driving according to the script and there's also
        a background image (screenshot01.jpg)

18:31 clumsy collision detection working, I'm now having fun trying to
make a script able to drive through the first testing level

18:53 fixed the hit detection a bit, did a first successful run through
        the test level.

19:00 now leaving for some hours, will contine a bit before the deadline..

2003-04-07 (Finland, GMT+2)

00:03 back, ready to do some final fixing and small additional features..

01:06 added another level

02:18 time & level name & game name display..
game name is "Script Kiddie Karting"! (screenshot02.jpg)

02:38 game status display

02:53 reload & restart with space; now it's possible to edit a script
file, save it and just try it by pressing space in the game again
without explicitly quitting and restarting the game every time

03:36 the game is about finished with one more additional level, some
lines of documentation is still missing. some inconsistency
in the game start is still somewhere but I have no will to find
such a small problem now.. =)

03:46 the game is final, time to zip it up.

Summary

Actual working time on the game: about 12 hours

----
Added 2004-04-07 after deadline, for version 1.0.1:
