Jet Boarder - A One Switch game by Leandro Correia, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the world of Jet Boarder, where a prototype robot is tested in the most dangerous tracks ever created!
This game is called Jet Boarder, and it's a "One Switch game", or to put it simple, a game that uses only one key command to be played. It was created in less than a month for the Retroremakes / One Switch Competition and it's FREEWARE. Please distribute it like crazy. :o)

Commands
--------------------------------------------------------

Fire - Joystick button 1, space or mouse left button.
Pause - Joystick button 2, ESC or mouse right button.
F10 - Toggles frame display on/off.
F12 - Saves a screenshot in the game folder.

How to navigate through options
--------------------------------------------------------

Tap fire to move through options. Hold it for about half a second and then release to select. There's a cheat mode also. Hold space for about 10 seconds at the title screen, and you'll not have to worry about time or energy (or score either).

How to play
--------------------------------------------------------

Press fire to go right. Release to go left. Jet Boarder accelerates automatically, so be careful! Even for a one switch game, this game has tight controls. :o)

Your objective is to reach the finish line before time runs out, or your energy is depleted. There are items that will help you, or not...

Itens
--------------------------------------------------------

Energy - Represented by the letter E. Gives you a small energy boost.
Extra time - Represented by a clock. Recovers some time.
Bonus - Represented by a "$". 10000 points.
Snail - A snail (duh!). This annoying item slows your Jet Boarder for five seconds.
Reverse - A double arrow. This even more annoying item inverts your direction for five seconds.
Ramps - Make you jump and accelerate. Also give you a tasty bonus of 100000 points.

Last Words

FAQ:
--------------------------------------------------------

Q: What is a "one switch game"?
A: It's a game that is controlled with just one key. Simple as that. Useful for people with disabilities. For more info, visit: www.oneswitch.co.uk

Q: How much does it costs?
A: Nothing. This game is a intellectual property of Leandro Correia, Brazilian designer and game creator. But the game itself is free. You can distribute it like crazy, just keep the game and its docs in their original form and DO NOT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR IT!!! If you distribute it in a magazine full of freeware games in a CD, send me an issue, OK?

Q: But I really liked your game...
A: Well, as I told you, the game is free. But if you really want to thank me, perhaps you can help me... I am totally addicted to retrogaming, so if you have any of those old LCD games and want to donate it to me, I'd love it (specially Nintendo, Bandai and Casio ones). You can also scan and send to me any original MSX game manuals. :o)

Q: Do you create games often?
A: No. Brazil has a solid software industry. However the same does not apply to computer games... If you are interested in promotional games for your company, just drop me a note and we'll talk about business.

Q: How did you make it?
A: Using Blitz Basic 2D, Photoshop, Coreldraw, and also some pixel art.

Q: Who asked these questions?
A: Some were asked by people around the web. Others were asked by the same guy who is answering them. You know, I like to talk to myself sometimes... :o)
