GeForce FX 5900 or equivalent (shader model 2), 128MB video RAM
*NOTE*
These are the recommended system requirements. I haven't tested Gladiator DeathMatch Arena on many machines, so it may run on your system, even if it's below the above specs. If it does, post your specs on our forums at
www.afterwinds.com!!!
Couple Notes:
You can modify the controls, graphics, and sound settings in the options menu on the main menu. Beware though, if you turn on dynamic shadows, it may directly impact the performance over time on your machine.
If you're running a dual core machine (especially an AMD) that you built yourself, and you notice odd performance issues (IE game runs too fast, too slow, etc), it's likely that you don't have the proper drivers installed. (I know I didn't when I set my computer up).
You can download the correct driver here:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html
More info on the issue can be found here:
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781
If you still have performance issues running on a dual core machine, you can try starting the game, then going into the task manager, right click on "Gladiator.exe", then select "set affinitiy". A window will pop up, and you'll be able to uncheck one of the CPU's. Do so. This forces Gladiator to run on a single core, which has been known to take care of performance issues on some dual core machines.

This game was created in my spare time in a little under 6 months specifically for Gamedev.net's 4E5 contest, Nov 30th 2006. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I had making it! Feel free to distribute the installation package to as many people as you want.
