This is a 'text' Help file to tell you how to play Cubed.
there's also an alternative 'HTML' help file with more detailed info

1] Level Editor Screen
-- Here is what's on the screen:
---> When you start the Level Editor, up in the upper-left corner is the Cube that you can
use to plan out the # of Moves for a level
Go to section 5 for more info on controlling the Cube

---> The Green 'diamond' curser is what you use to place objects on a level (when you start
the Level Editor, it's next to the Cube at Position 1,1)
Go to section 4 for more info on controlling the Curser

---> At the top of the screen there is a 'Blank' Space. You have to place a Wall there to
Activate the level (If you don't put a wall there, 'Cubed' will not load the
level, and it will go directly to the Completion screen)

---> The LOAD button, used to load the levels
Go to section 2 & 3 for more info on Loading

---> The SAVE button, used to save levels
Go to section 4 for more info on Saving (towards the end of the section)

	a level #.
--Each .3ed file can hold up to 30 levels. You don't have to make all 30 levels to
play the file in Cubed, you can make just a few if you want (Cubed will stop and
go to the 'Completion Screen' after the last level you've made) [for example, if
you make 5 levels, Cubed will check to see if there is a 6th level after you
complete the 5th level, and if there is no 6th level, Cubed will go to the
'Completion Screen', telling you that you've completed the File]

---> The Bar with the small pad icons on it is used to place objects in the level.
Go to section 4 for more info on Placing Objects

---> 'Position' tells you where the Curser is in the play area.

---> The 'Small Cube' in the bottom-right corner is used to show you what's on the other
side of the Cube (just like in Cubed).
Go to section 5 for more info on controlling the Cube

---> 'NEW/CLEAR' button is used to clear the play area. [You can also press 'Esc']
--(You can also press this button while a level is loading, if you accidentally
load a level you didn't want to load you can press the button to stop it, so
you don't have to wait for the whole level to finish loading)

---> The 5 'slots' on the bottom-left corner are [from the left]:
'ON/OFF [time]' - This turns the timer function On or Off (turn it on if you
want to make a Timed level)

'TIME' - When 'ON/OFF [time]' is on, you will be able to put in the ammount
of TIME to complete the level in this slot

'MOVES' - When 'ON/OFF [moves]' is on, you will be able to put in the ammount
of MOVES to complete the level in this slot
Go to section 7 for more info on the Moves option

'COLOR' - Use this slot to change the Color of the Walls in the level [choose
	    from 24 different color schemes]

2] How To Select A File (to load a level)
-- Here's how Load a level from a file so you can Edit it:

--Click on the + and - buttons next to 'Level' to select a level #

[2] Next Click on the Drop-Down menu to select a file

	    you selected, from the file
--Once the level is loaded, you can't select another file or level # unless you
	    press the 'New/Clear' button

[4] Now you can Edit the level
Go to section 4 for more info on Editing a Level

3] How to Create A New File
-- Here's how create a New File:
[1] First you have to Type in what you want to name the file
>>[IMPORTANT NOTE 1] When typing in a new file name, the mouse pointer MUST be touching
the 'Edit Box' or you can't type anything in. And when you're not Creating a New File,
try to keep the mouse pointer away from the 'Edit Box' so you don't accidentally type
    in someting.
>>[IMPORTANT NOTE 2] You MUST always put a .3ed file extension after the name, or you will
not be able to Load levels from the file. (This program only reads and writes to files
    with a .3ed extension)

[2] After you've named the file, click on the 'LOAD' button and the level will
load (It will be a Blank level)
--(you should put the Level # to 1 before you Load, so you can edit the 1st level)

[3] After the level is finished loading, you can then Edit it, and then Save it.
--After you Save the level to the file, click on the 'New/Clear' button and your
new file will be selectable from the Drop-Down menu
Go to section 4 for more info on Editing a Level

4] How To Edit A Level
!!!!> FIRST OF ALL, YOU MUST LOAD A LEVEL, IN ORDER TO EDIT IT <!!!!

-- To edit a level you use the 'Curser' and the 'Pad Bar' on the right of the screen
--To control the Curser, use the Arrow Keys on your keyboard.

-- Use the Pad bar to place an object into the play area.
Here's what the 'icons' on the Pad Bar represent:
--> 'WALL' - Used to place a Wall in the play area. [In Cubed, Walls are used to
	    Stop the Cube]

--> 'BLANK' - Used to 'Erase' an object in the play area. [You can use this to
'erase' an object and make it a 'Blank' space.
--You can also put a Pad over another Pad, for example, if you have a
'Colored' Pad but you want a 'Wall' in it's place, just move the Curser
onto the 'Colored' Pad and then click on the 'Wall' icon]

--> 'START POINT' - Used to place a Start Point in the play area. [In Cubed, a
Start Point is where the Cube starts. You can only have 1 Start Point in a
level, if you put more that one in a level, Cubed will Load the 'Start Point'
that's closest to the bottom of the level. If you don't put a Start Point into
a level and you 'Activate the Level', Cubed will tell you that there's no
Start Point and Quit to the Main Menu]

--> 'SCRAMBLER' - Used to place a Scrambler in the play area. [In Cubed, Scramble
Padz will randomly 'Scramble' the Cube until you flip off the Scramble Pad]

--> '6 COLORED PADZ' - Used to place Padz in the play area. [In Cubed, the Colored
Padz are what you have to get rid of with the Cube. You have to have at least
1 Colored Pad in each level, or Cubed will go to the next level]

--> '4 ARROW PADZ' - Used to place Arrow Padz in the play area. [In Cubed, when
the Cube lands on an Arrow Pad, it can only move in the direction that the
	    arrow is pointing to.
--Try not to put 2 Arrow Padz pointing into each other, or the Cube will
get Stuck, and you will have to Reset the level]

--> '6 WARP PADZ' - Used to place Warp Padz in the play area. [There are 3 sets of
Warp Padz (cyan, green, and red) with the # 1 or 2 on them. Place #1 somewhere
in the Play area and then #2 (of the same color) in another area and the Cube
will Warp to and from the Padz when you land on them (in Cubed)]

!!!!> To place an object in the play area, just position the curser in the play area and
then Click on an 'icon' in the Pad Bar with the left mouse button and the object will
appear where the Curser's at in the play area. [For example, if you wanted a Wall, move
the Curser to the position in the play area that you want the Wall at and then Click on
the Wall icon on the Pad Bar, and a Wall will appear at the curser's position]

-- After you've created the level, Don't forget to Put a Wall at the top of the Level to
'ACTIVATE' it. (If you don't put a wall there, 'Cubed' will not load the level,
and it will go directly to the Completion screen)

-- Once you've done everything, then Click on the SAVE button at the top of the screen
to Save the level to your File

-- Now you can Click on the 'New/Clear' button to start to edit another level

cube in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

-- If you Click on the Cube, you can make it go directly to the Curser.

decrease the time (If you keep the 'Time' at 0, Cubed will automaticly set
	    the 'Timer' to 2)

-- If you turn the 'Timer' OFF and then ON again, then the 'TIME' will reset to 0

-- If the 'ON/OFF [moves]' slot is turned ON, you CAN'T turn the 'ON/OFF [time]' ON (You
can only have one of them ON, or both of them OFF for a 'Puzzle' level)

[1] Once you're finished Editing your level, bring the Curser down to the bottom
of the screen and onto the 'ON/OFF [moves]' slot. 2 buttons will appear under
the Curser, a + and - button. Click on the + button to turn the 'Moves' option
ON (to turn it off, just press the - button)

[2] Once you turn the 'Timer' option on, a # will appear in the 'MOVES' slot. Move

10] Helpful Hints
--!!!! Remember to put a 'Wall' at the top of the screen to 'ACTIVATE THE LEVEL', if you
don't, Cubed will think that it's the last level and will go directly to the
	'Completion Screen' !!!!

-- It's a good idea to make your level(s) and then test them, just in case you made a
mistake, like placing a Wall in the wrong place, preventing the Cube from
	finishing the level

-- Remember that when 'Typing in a New Filename', the mouse pointer MUST be somewhere
in the 'Edit Box' or you will not be able to type anything in

-- Remember that you CAN'T Edit a level until you LOAD one first

-- Once you Load a level, you can't load another one unless you Click on the 'New/Clear'
	button or press 'ESC'
