==============Beer Run==============
====================================
This game is still in the early stages of its development,
so expect some problems! If you wish to report any bugs
send them to egoant@egoant.com

If you are having problems with errors in the game, make
sure you unzipped the files with the "use folder names"
option on in WinZip. There should be four subfolders
inside the main Beer Run folder.

Requirements:
=============
Beer Run is designed to be run on a PC with directX 7.0 or
higher. Recommended speed is at least a 400mhz machine with
a decent amount of RAM and all that other good stuff.
The game has been tested primarily on a p3 600 and runs well
on that. (Though large levels with lots of objects start to
slow things down...)

Game Controls:
==============
Escape Game menu (new game, quit)

Up Arrow	Speed Up (will only help if you are going slow)
Left Arrow	Turn Left
Right Arrow	Turn Right
Down Arrow	Slow Down

Space bar	Beer Boost!
(Uses one can of Beer for a momentary burst of speed... Trust me, don't
ask why, and don't get caught behind someone when they do it! Stinky!)

(Joystick controls can now be used for movement and any joystick button should work for boost.)

Editor Controls:
================
Esc		Exit editor

Up Arrow	Move forward
Down Arrow	Move backward
Left arrow	Turn left
Right arrow	Turn right
Right Shift	High speed move (hold while moving)

Page Up Move terrain point up
Page Down	Move terrain point down

Tab		Show current tool values
[		Edit radius -1
]		Edit radius +1
- Edit level adjust -1 (affects how quickly terrain raises or lowers)
= Edit level adjust +1 (affects how quickly terrain raises or lowers)

Delete Use this to smooth the area surrounding the placer (matrix average)

Home		Move placer up
End		Move placer down
(the placer's height can be used to put cans and cash at different heights, this can
be used to make cans and cash that can only be reached with a ramp, for example)

F1 Seal breaks between matrix segments
F2 Raise all objects to current terrain level

F5		Place tree
F6		Place beer
F7		Place ramp
F8		place cash

Space bar	Press the space bar when over top of an item to pick it up or set it down

Control-S	save level
(it might not look like anything is happening when you hit save, but you should be able
to enter a name for your level and hit enter to save it. When naming your level do not
use any punctuation or special characters. The file extension will be added automatically.)

How to use a custom level:
==========================
To use a custom level simply open the level.ini file in the main directory and change the
level name contained there to the level name of your choice. Save and close the file and
re-launch Beer Run. A nicer way of doing this is in the works.

Known Bugs:
===========
-Currently the collision detection for beer cans and cash objects does
 not track on the vertical axis, this will be fixed next version.
-The computer opponent is both stupid, and a blatant cheater. It is still
 possible to beat the computer, just use your Beer Boosts wisely! I am
 still working on an intelligent AI that doesn't cheat so much!
-Sometimes the game menu doesn't work very well with the enter key, use space bar
 to select items to avoid this.
-There are a bunch of others, but honestly I am so tired right now I can't think.
 I'll list them later, for now I hope you enjoy Beer Run!
-Occasionally monkeys in the vicinity of the computer
 the game is playing on will spontaneously combust...
 I have not found the cause of this error, for the time being
 please keep any pet monkeys at least 10 feet from the
 screen while playing.

Future Plans:
=============
Due to time constraints the following are not in the current version but are still
coming! Multiplayer, multiple level support, ability to upgrade sleds, textured sleds,
and weapons (freeze, hurl insults, and pine cones!).

Special Thanks:
===============
Carolyn, for her patience over the last month, I have been crazy, obsessive, and sketchy.
I love you.

Lee, for not saying it sucks, yet... :-)

Cam, for introducing me to the pounding beats... Beware Cam's hamster stance!

Ryan Hayward, for contributing the couch that I plan to use in the intro for the final version.

And to a lot of other people, whose names have been erased from my memory by sleep deprivation
and far too much caffeine.
