Welcome to Around the World
---------------------------
This game is a platform made with Sound, music and a great gameplay. We
have tried to include things in this game that we felt were missing in
other platform games. If you have tried our previous game: The Adventures
you will see a major difference between these two games. Remember Around
the World is FeedBackWare.

If you have any questions then email TMB at tmb@crosswinds.net

Run the game
------------
Let us start in the beginning:

- You have downloaded this game or got it from a friend.
- You have unzipped the AW.ZIP to your HD. If you use the DOS program PKUNZIP.EXE then you used the -d option, right?
- Quit Windows - If you don't, the game will run very unstable.
- Go to the dictonary where you unzipped AW.ZIP.
- TYPE AW
- The game now begins.
- You can now get warnings (No soundcard etc.).
- A 'Loading' screen now appears.
- A menu now appears.
- Select 'Start'. And you're playing Around the World.

If you got an error message then look at the FAQ section.

You can also type:
AW NOMUSIC - To disable the music.
AW NOTHING - To disable Sound and music. This option is highly
             recommended by SoundBlaster Live! owners.
AW NOSMOOTH - To make the game faster.
AW ? - To get a command list.

System requirements
-------------------
The minimum configuration to run the game is:
- A 486DX2 based machine
- 1mb of EMS memory
- 510kb Base memory

The best configuration to run the game is:
- A Pentium based maschine
- 233Mzh or above
- A very fast graphicscard
- A soundcard
This game was developed on a PC with the FAST Banshee chip with 16mb
RAM from 3Dfx. We know this card is much faster than the averange but
if the game runs with 138-140 fps then you have the right computer. We
have tried the game on a 486DX2 with 55Mhz and it runs ok - with 10
frameskips!!
AND REMEMBER...DON'T RUN THIS GAME FROM WINDOWS.
Run the game from Dos (see the FAQ section).

Controls
--------
You control the game like this:

Right - Right arrow
Left - Left arrow
Look up - Up arrow
Look down - Down arrow
Jump - Space
Shoot - Alt

Although the controls ARE editable, they still don't work right. Look
for the next version.

Story
-----
You know there IS an intro. Look at that first.

You are a wolf who works for a museum as an adventurer. But since the
museum doesn't need your help, you are simply driving a taxi.
Then one day, the museum calls you. You must find 4 items from around
the world and bring them back to the museum.

Gameplay features
-----------------
Graphics:
 - 75 tiles for each level.
 - 300 different tiles in the game.
 - 16 animations for the Wolf - in each level.
 - In just the walking animation there are 8 animations.
 - 5-7 animations for each enemy.

Misc.:
 - MANY cheat codes.
 - 8 Levels in 4 different countries.
 - Bonus levels.
 - You don't just complete one level after the other. Each level brings you closer to your goal, 'helped' by an old man.
 - The Wolf changes clothes for each level.
 - Soundblaster digital sounds in 22000Hz.
 - The weather can change just like it can get darker and Black/White.

F.A.Q.
------
Q: The game runs slow, you bragged about it being fast. What's up
   with that?
A: First look at the requirenments. This game was made with a great
gameplay in mind. NOT combatibility. -But one of the things that
may slow the game down is the sound and music. If you got a
SoundBlaster Live! you can forget about the sound. The driver is
too slow. Look at the 'Run the game' section.
Q: Why is the user-defined controls 'funny'?
A: It's a bug. Look for the next release.
Q: The game requires EMS, what's that?
A: EMS is a way of storing data. Around the World uses EMS and you
should therefore have the following lines in your C:\Config.Sys

   DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
   DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE 2000 RAM

Q: Can I have the level editor, please?
A: Sure, just register from www.tmbproductions.com - it's free.
