AlphaBits By JerBil ( Jerry Lyles, E-mail: jerryl@695online.com )

AlphaBits is graphics intensive, and it may take
a minute for the Welcome Screen to appear.

WELCOME SCREEN:
When the Welcome Screen finally appears, you may
press RETURN to start the game or you can click the
LOG button to enter the LOG SCREEN.

LOG SCREEN:
If you want AlphaBits to keep a record of your session, click the
Log button on the Welcome Screen to access the log file.
On the Log screen, there are ten name spaces available.
To enter your name (six letters) click the mouse pointer
on any name space, and type letters on the keyboard.

Type slowly and watch the letter change to get it right. You
may use the backspace key if needed. When you are finished,
hit RETURN to exit name entering, then you can click Log to
return to the Welcome Screen, or you can click RESET to
reset the entire log file.

GAME SCREEN -WORD PUZZLE:
The main game screen is a large room with a row of glass
blocks down the center of the room. On these blocks,
a scrambled word will appear. You will get points for each
word you un-scramble.

To un-scramble a word, simply click the mouse over a letter
and it will be high-lighted. Now click the pointer over a letter
you wish to exchange with the first letter and it will change.
The longer you take to un-scramble a word, the less points
you will get for it.

You may click on the music note on the score bar to turn
sound on/off. If you click the "solve" button, the word
will be un-scrambled for you, but you won't get any points
for that word.

There are 105 words in the game, and 50 are displayed
at random. After 50, the word counter resets, but you can
continue to rack up points solving the words.

You may also use the arrow keys to move around the room,
and you can even try to solve words from the back side if
you think you are good enough.

Good luck solving simple, everyday TGC words.
