English Robotic Invasion documentation

This file contains some info about the game you have downloaded, Robotic Invasion. The ri.zip file contains three files. This one, ( ridoc.htm ) the game ( RI.exe ) and a driver required to play the game ( cncs232.dll ). The .exe file does not extract to a setup file. Just click the icon, and the game runs. If you experience any problems check out the homepage FAQ, or write to TechVision ( please follow the this link ).

The story

Greenytoria is a beautiful planet where the inhabitants live in peace with each other. They are a very high-tech society using mechanical inventions to help them in their everyday lives. Almost all of this mechanical stuff comes from Robotic Solutions inc. The owner is called G. Reedy. He is a wealthy man with a very high education and he moved to the planet a long time ago. Thereafter he began to develop robots to make a living. The company produce robots for all kind of purposes. From cleaning machines, industrial building machines, transport vehicles to remote-controlled submarines. G. Reedy has now realised that he can use his knowledge to entirely different things...

The doc lives on his own island on Greenytoria. It's a long way from everything else on the planet. All the factories are also located on the island. He has no workers at all, because it's controlled by robots. Greenytoria is a planet full of resources. Reedy has planned to launch all these contraptions to gain control of Greenytoria and exploit the resources of the planet.G. Reedy has taken the first step to take over the entire galaxy. He has captured all of the inhabitants with his robots. Except for one that is.

Greeny, a scientist who is specialised in robotic machinery and computer technology, is doing some research in his lab. But right now he is looking out of his window in the lab and can't understand where everyone else is...

How to play

What to do:
Your goal in this game is to reach the end of each of the levels. But you will not be allowed to exit if you haven't collected all the crystals located in each level. On your way you will meet enemies. Avoid or shoot them. There are also extra health points scattered in the landscape. You can collect those too. At the final stage, the boss stage, your goal is to beat the boss.

What will kill me:
You die if you fall off the ground and there are no platforms underneath you. Otherwise you die when you have lost all your health points. You can do this by touching the spikes, get hit by an enemy or an enemy shot.

Complete Level Bonus:
You receive this bonus for each level completed

Life Bonus:
You receive this bonus for the number of remaining lifes you have left when the game is completed. The more lifes you have left, the more points you will get.

HP Bonus:
The more Health Points (HP) you have after each completed level the more points you receive.

Hidden Item Bonus:
In the first three levels there is one hidden item. If you find it you will receive 500 points.

Version history

Version 1.9: 1 May 2005
- Changed the domain name of the TechVision homepage.

What's new in version 1.8 (9 July 2004):
- The game can now be played in fullscreen/windowed modes.
- Online highscore board added
- Some visual touch-ups and changes are implemented
- Added an original music score (and scrapped the previous non-original work)

 

What's new in version 1.7?
- The in-game escape menu now has two choices (Quit to main menu? Yes/No) - The game includes the new TechVision domain



What's new in version 1.62?
- The springboard code is much improved. Now you can just walk into the spring and you will bounce up in the air. You can also jump onto the springs, and mark a direction whenever you choose, and loose no power when jumping
- A lot of small fixes and adjustments



What's new in version 1.61?
- The Secret items will now reset when you replay the game (without ending it, or restarting it by pressing F2)



What's new in version 1.6?
- Fixed the escape problem, so now it's possible to exit from in-game to the menu pressing escape (you have to confirm so you won't accidentally do it by chance)
- No more multiple shots by the flying enemy
- Authentic cloud graphic
- The "How To Play" text has been rewritten to reflect the changes in the game
- The exit signs will now display a message telling you that you need more crystals (should you have failed to collect them all)
- Health Point status sign blinking when critical, so you know when to be extra carefully
- Now there's a sound effect when your shots hit the background (like hills, spikes and so on)
- Fixed final boss position. You can't hit the boss by jumping up and down on the spring anymore.
- Greeny will now flash when hit by enemy fire or spikes etc. (Greeny will be invincible during that time, apart from falling into a pit)
- You receive bonus points if you find a secret item in each the first three levels
- You now receive bonus points when you complete a level. If you complete the game, you also receive points for the number of lives you have remaining. So now there's nothing to gain by dying in a level after you have collected all items, just to recollect them aginain
- The game now features a new menu-layout. A new spiffy logo is included.
- The game is in fullscreen 16 bit colors (32768)
- The shooting engine has been changed a little. It's no longer required that you press and hold up/down when shooting in these directions. Now you mark the direction, and shoot. No need to keep the button pressed down, when firing
- The minus point concept has been dropped
- The enemies can't be shot repeatedly to gain more points
- The mouse interface has been removed, and replaced with a universal direction/fire 1/ fire 2 interface. That means it will work with the keyboard, joypad, gamepad etc.
- Some animations have been removed
- Some graphical objects have been cleaned up
- Some objects "Z" position have been corrected
- Some texts have been rewritten, corrected or deleted
- Loads of small fixes



What's new in version 1.5?
- The main difference in this update is the new shooting engine. Greeny can now shoot while jumping. It makes a big difference when you play the game to be able to do this. It was worked it out for RI2, but since that isn't coming out for a while it might as well be included in this game
- There are also some minor bug fixes in this version



What's new in version 1.4?
- Completely new menu-layout
- Some of the texts has been rewritten for a more precise description
- The game has been spell-checked. Hopefully this will clean out some of the nastiest spelling errors. The grammarcy you will have to live with...
- At the "Credits" page you can now acces my webpage or email address





What's new in version 1.3?

- The virus that caused the game to be removed from the server has been cleaned out
- Before there was a sound effect missing when you collected the crystals. That is fixed now
- You now lose all your points when you lose a life
- The game includes my new email address
- Minor bug fixes



What´s new in version 1.2?
- Some objects position have been fixed
- You can´t fall off and die at the exit points anymore, there's a wall now
- There are now some guiding arrows to help you in the first level
- The rest are small fixes



What´s new in version 1.1?
- The Multimedia Fusion bug that only made jumping possible when marking a direction has been fixed. A Multimedia Fusion patch 1.1 fixed the problem

    Denne fil indeholder info om det spil du har downloadet, Robotic Invasion. Robotic Invasion zip filen indeholder tre filer. Denne her (ridok.htm) spillet (ri.exe) og en driver der er bruges til at køre exe filen. Exe filen er ikke en setup fil. Bare klik på ri.exe og spillet kører.     Historien

    Greenytoria er en smuk planet hvor beboerne lever fredeligt sammen. De har en højt udviklet teknologi som hjælper dem i deres daglige liv. Næsten al deres teknologi kommer fra Robotic Solutions Inc. Ejeren hedder Dr. G. Reedy. Han er en rig og mægtig mand med en høj uddannelse. Han flyttede til planeten for mange år siden. Derefter begyndte han at udvikle robotter for at tjene til dagen og vejen. Hans selskab producerer robotter til alle slags formål. Fra rengøringsmaskiner, industrielle byggemaskiner, transport robotter til fjernstyrede undervandsbåde. G. Reedy har nu indset han kan bruge denne viden og magt til helt andre ting end bare at producere robotter...

    Doktoren lever på sin helt egen ø på Greenytoria, langt fra alt andet på planeten. Der er ingen medarbejdere ansat, alt bliver fremstillet af robotter. Greenytoria er en planet fuld af ressourcer. Reedy har planlagt at udnytte disse ressourcer som Greenytoria besidder. G. Reedy har allerede taget det første skridt til at overtage Greenytoria, og senere intet mindre end galaksen. Han har tilfangetaget alle beboerne på planeten. Dog med undtagelse af en enkelt.

    Greeny, en videnskabsmand med speciale i robotter og computer teknologi, er ved at foretage undersøgelser i sit laboratorie. Men nu da han kigger ud af vinduet, kan han ikke forstå hvor alle de andre er henne...

    Sådan spiller man

    Grundregler:
    Dit mål er at nå til slutningen af hver af de tre første baner. Du skal dog samle alle krystallerne før du kan komme videre. Har du ikke samlet alle krystaller må du gå tilbage og finde dem alle før du kan komme videre. På din vej møder du fjender. Skyd eller undgå dem. Der er også health point rundt omkring på banerne. På den sidste fjerde bane skal du ikke samle krystaller, men klare bossen.

    Hvad Greeny skal passe på:
    Man dør hvis man falder ned i et hul. Man dør hvis man mister alle sine health point. Du mister dem ved at røre ved pigge, blive ramt af en fjendes skud eller hvis du rammer selve fjenden.

    Complete Level Bonus:
    Du modtager denne bonus for hver bane du gennemfører.

    Life Bonus:
    Når spillet er gennemført får du point får alle de liv du har til gode. Gem dem for et højere antal point.

    HP Bonus:
    Desto flere health point du har efter hver bane du har gennemført, desto flere point får du.

    Hidden Item Bonus:
    På de første tre baner er der en skjult genstand. Hvis du finder den modtager du 500 point.

    - Ændret bossens poition. Man kan nu ikke længere klare bossen ved at hoppe på fjederen
    - Greeny blinker nu hvis han bliver ramt af et skud, eller rører en pig. I den tid er han usårlig overfor skud og pigge.
    - Du modtager bonus point hvis du finder alle "Secret Items" på de tre første baner
    - Du modtager nu point for hver bane du gennemfører
    - Nyt menu system. Et nyt logo har spillet også fået
    - Spillet er nu i 16bit farver (32768)
    - Minus point konceptet er blevet droppet
    - Fjenderne kan ikke længere skydes flere gange for at få flere point
    - Spillet har fået et universalt retning/knap 1/ knap 2 system i stedet for at bruge mus. Det gør at man kan styre hele spillet med keyboardet, joystick eller gamepad
    - Nogle animationer er blevet fjernet
    - Nogel grafiske objekter er blevet "renset"
    - Nogle objekters "Z" position er blever ændret
    - Visse tekster er blever ændret/rettet
    - Resten er mindre rettelser

    Hvad nyt i version 1.5?
    - Ny "shoting engine". Greeny kan nu hoppe og skyde samtidig.
