NIGHTLIFE II (Version 2.3)

What is Nightlife II?

Nightlife II is a Nightclub Management Sim, in which you take control of your very own Nightclub; you are in charge of buying the drinks, hiring security and promoting the club amongst other things. This quick guide should be enough to get you going in the game and give you enough tips to help you start a successful business!

The Club

The main feature of the game screen is the Club Interior. Here you can see the Bar, DJ Decks and some other useful bits and bobs. Most of the items inside the club can be upgraded to increase the quality of the club. Move the mouse button over an item to see how much an upgrade costs, and click on it to upgrade - providing you have enough cash!

Drinks

The main draw of a Nightclub - other than the music - is the drink, and you patrons won't be happy to find that upon their arrival, the bar is dry! Always make sure you have enough stock to meet demand, as unhappy customers can damage your reputation.

Security

As with any nightclub, fights can break out at any time, especially after a few beverages. If you decide to ignore the security aspect and don't hire enough Bouncers, your club will soon get a become notorious as a dangerous place to party. Always make sure you have enough men on the doors to keep the troublemakers in line.

Advertising

Word of mouth from happy customers is a good thing, but it won't exactly bring in the punters like a well funded advertising campaign. There are three different ways in which you can let the world know about your club; Newspaper, Radio and T.V Ads. All three have different costs, with the more expensive obviously being more successful.

Choosing Music

There are four different types of music that you can choose from to play at your club, each one with it's own popularity in the gaming world; it is down to you to work out which type brings in the most customers. If you select the 'Closed' option, the club will not open that night; you must select a type of music for the club to open.

Hiring DJ's

So you have the drinks stocked, hired security and chosen the music. Now what you need to really get people talking is a big-name DJ to do a session at your club. You have a resident DJ, but he won't bring in the crowds. As you build up your reputation, more DJ's will show an interest in playing at your club. Hiring a Guest DJ has a considerable effect on you clientele.

Podium Dancers

Podium Dancers are there to get people in the party mood and get the dance-floor shaking. They do cost money, but they have a positive effect on your reputation. You can toggle the Podium Dancers by clicking on the Podiums themselves while the club is closed.

Opening The Club

Once you have everything sorted, it's time to open the club! If you have done everything right, you should see a modest queue outside your nightclub, waiting to get in. You will also see people dancing on the dance-floor. This gives you an indication of both the popularity of your club and how many customers you are getting each night.

Weekly Costs

Every week you will have to pay the bills and wages for the club, this includes rent and staff wages amongst other things. The bigger your club gets and the better it's interior, the more it will cost to keep it ship-shape.

Tips

Here are some tips to get your Nightclub off the ground.

- Always make sure you have enough drink in stock - a nightclub without drinks can only last so long.

- Choosing the correct music is important, but it is also important to have a variety. If Pop music is the most popular type of music, it is no good playing it every day of the week as not every Pop fan wants to party 24/7.

- Improving your interior is the fastest way to bring attention to your club and drum up interest.

- Hire Guest DJ's when you can, especially at peak times as this can really bring in a vast number of customers.

- Customer patterns reflect those in the real world, and so Friday and Saturday nights are your peak times, whereas Sundays and Mondays will generally be very slow. Hire DJ's and select the most popular type of music at peak times to generate maximum profit!
